A REMARKABLE LIFE

A baby was born many years ago. He was born a poor Jew. Except for his parents and family, his earliest days were marked by the injustices of local political chaos and poverty. His father was a carpenter, and his mother instilled in him the stability of her deep spiritual values. There is no record of his formal education, but ancient accounts record his curiosity and interest in the people of his community. He was a good listener, and as he encountered local established religious leaders, he learned from them and gently posed questions. When he spoke, he suggested values different from the existing religious traditions of the time. People listened. Soon, his talks and new ideas gained popularity. From a handful of followers, he began to draw larger audiences who recognized him as a unique individual with a fresh message of hope and charity.

Within a short time, many people began to consider him the promised Messiah noted in ancient and respected writings.  s this boy became a young man, he began to present new ideas about the spiritual beliefs of his inherited religion. During this time, he gained popularity and a handful of followers. He also faced pushback from the local establishment of political and religious leaders.
