DRUG ADDICTION IS OUR # 1 KILLER

 Warp Speed was a successful initiative which created a collaboration between government, science and medical manufacturers. In record time, good vaccines reversed the death toll of the Chinese Virus and America and the world defeated another disease. Ongoing worldwide research continues to address other dreadful diseases. 

However, the plague of drug addiction in the United States is raging even though the solutions are readily available. Too many proper law enforcement and treatment solutions have been replaced by political correctness where elected officials look the other way and actually aid the victims in their self destruction. Recently, viewing U Tube documentaries about the open drug use in Seattle, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and other cities has been a heart breaking revelation. Seeing so many young people and fellow citizens suffering from the disease of drug addiction can and should be handled as a curable disease.

Specifically, those who manufacture, transport and sell drugs should be rigorously prosecuted. This means deportation or serious prison time. To the addicted, facilities must be established and funded to cure sick people of their drug dependence. As an example, Rhode Island established a program through it's corrections department which brings drug addicts into rehab centers where they get the counseling and medicines necessary to overcome drugs. When sent back into the community these previous addicts are required to continue their cure with counseling and medicines. The success rate of the Rhode Island program is very high which means most of the participants begin new lives free of drugs. 

I believe politicians have failed in many cases by softening drug enforcement laws, providing free needles and allowing sidewalks and parks to become filthy tent cities. Homelessness and crime are caused by drugs and when the addicted are treated as people with a disease, the homelessness and crime rates will decline. 

When a loved one is seriously injured or beset by a serious disease we rush to get medical remedies. Shouldn't we extend the same compassion and help to street people addicted by drugs ? Over the decades cures and remedies for pneumonia, malaria, polio, heart diseases, diabetes and other human afflictions have been developed and used to cure and ease pain. We have the medicines and treatments to erase the despair of drug addiction, but aren't maximizing its uses - why ? 

Many politicians are reluctant or unwilling to enforce laws or do the hard work of solving the drug problem and saving those who need help. In my opinion, it's a damn shame we have political leaders who have abandoned correcting a public plague which spawns so many other crimes. Worse, these cowardly and ineffective politicians are often re elected. 

    

UNMAKING AMERICAN GREATNESS

Today the WSJ headlined, "Inflation Jumps to 13 - Year High".

Seems another un accomplishment of the Biden - Harris Administration in their drive to further strip America of it's greatness. While proclaiming climate change and racism as the enemies of the nation, they have cancelled our energy independence, botched up our southern borders, and performed meekly as world leaders.

Many citizens are waking to the realization that supporting the old Obama and newer radical motives of the Bernie, gang of four and left media is unmaking the worlds greatest nation into something less. The constant appeal of fear, class and racial divisions, and anti police rhetoric is ringing as hollow and pandering appeals to many citizens. 

While a pragmatic & businessman POTUS defied all critics in getting cures for the Chinese Virus, the party of Biden & Harris blamed Trump for all the ills of the Coronavirus emergency. Coupled with some questionable elections, they secured the White House and immediately began to issue executive orders to cancel everything Trump accomplished in the name of "Making America Great". 

Fortunately, an increasing number of "truly" awoke Americans are seeing the shallow and weak level of leadership from Biden and Harris. A number of moderate congressional democratic politicians are resisting legislation designed to cancel filibuster rules and take national election laws away from states. 

Admitting unlimited illegal aliens, payoffs to cyber crooks, dismantling our energy independence, allowing big crime surges in our urban areas, pushing huge and wasteful federal spending bills in the name of infrastructure, and weakening our police and military forces are not the agenda items most Americans want. Also, facilitating China, Russia, Iran and North Korea to resume their international bullying, threats and abuses of human rights seems no where on the current administrations priority list. 

The 2022 and 2024 elections will hopefully shift political power away from the radical left. In the meantime, it is encouraging to see more people defying the silly "woke" initiatives of their city councils, school boards and state legislatures. 

Engaged and informed Americans can and will slow the "Unmaking of American Greatness" and usher in better times where the number of career politicians, overpaid and overpowered bureaucrats and lobbyists are reduced, fired or retired.

ENDING SOON THE "WOKE" & "CANCEL CULTURE" THING

I believe the cultural and political aberration we have experienced over the last few years will soon be a memory.  In my opinion and by a huge margin, most Americans hold these listed beliefs above all the recent noise and disruption from ANTIFA, BLM, and the far left political, celebrity and media crowd. Whiny radicals on the left need to appreciate and support the USA or get the hell out! 

1. Our Constitution, along with its necessary Amendments, is the greatest human rights charter in the history of mankind.

2. Capitalism offers the maximum economic opportunity to citizens willing and able to work or invest in the market place.

3. Excessive government regulations tend to limit personal liberties and economic opportunities.

4.  The efforts to re write history, destroy statues and re educate the young away from the rich tapestry of good and bad American history is wrongheaded and can only result in repeating bad history.

5. Immigration is an earned gift, but a legal process is necessary and new citizens must embrace the common language and customs of their new homeland. 

6. Without a state sponsored religion and discounting church attendance numbers, America is a deeply religious nation and it's people the most charitable in the world.

7. The historic role and responsibilities of families, churches and communities made America great and must be embraced more to heal the deep wounds of poverty, crime and homelessness. 

8. In the main, our police are good and necessary public servants. However, like any large group (politicians, teachers, celebrities) they are prone to rare deadly mistakes and unlawful activities. 

9. Political elections at all levels must be day long (with some exceptions) and simple transactions absolutely requiring a proof of identity. 

10. Free speech means the expression of all views and voices without government or media censorship.

11. We the people control the election of state and federal leaders. They work for us and we must hold them more accountable which means speaking up and enduring the spears and arrows of criticism.
